Hello All!
I just came across this site yesterday and I must say it's an absolute goldmine...the ultimate resource!
Anyways, I am starting my Senior Year of High School here in Vancouver and I am seriously planning on attending Med School outside of Canada. Namely, Australia.
I've considered the University of Glasgow, though being form Scotland, I really don't care much to go back and study there...I'm looking for something different. Vancouver and Scotland share some similar traits. I'm avoiding the US for many recurring reasons. I've also had an oppotunity arise in Melbourne which is why I'd be relocating there.
Now that you know a wee bit about me, here are my questions:
- I was hoping that someone could enlighten be on the requirements and programs necessary to enroll in an Australian Medical School. As well as explaining their programs and structure.
- Do I need 1 or 2 years of College or University prior to applying?
- What is the Bachelor of Medicne and Surgery degree and where does that get me? Does it Differ form an MD? Are the two related?
Would be most advantageous and highly recommended to establish a Permenant Residency in Australia prior to appliacation in thier Medical Program?
That's about all for now....
I thank you in advance for your time. If you (The reader) have anything to suggest or any additional information please don't hesitate to reply or e-mail me. I know I haven't covered much of what I absolutely need to know.
Cheers,
- Matthew Millar
