Default step 2 CS

SDN Members don't see this ad.
Question regarding step 2 CS:

How phone consult cases work? are we doing the same as a normal patient physically in the room like except physical. We do write SOAP note, assesment/plan..every thing? I really not familiar to it..please if some one explain to me what phone consult mean. I really appreciate it.

Again, if a patient came only to get lab result or just to get a form filled out something or a follow up pt..are we doing every thing as a regular pt..h&P, etc how about for the one only come to get his lab result..are we just check his lab result and come up to a diagnosis and write prescription or plan other test or just explain the lab findings and continue as taking pt. H& P again, use his lab result and do the rest. My question is offcourse it is normal case and you can manage it every thing as in a real world..but since it is not a pt. you know..I think you don't have previous H &P..or medical record something..so..we need to start over and establish those info. to come up a diagnosis or treatment plan..this means..even if the pt. come for follow up or to get his lab..unless you have or provide you his previous visit info..you have to establish those info...so..still you treat the pt as new even if the primary visit is follow up.
Sorry..I am just writing what I am thinking..that is why I am asking you guys to give me some info. how things work..to get some idea.

Thank you very much.

First Aid for CS is a quick read and will answer all your questions (of which you have many). I strongly recommend this book. It will take you 2 afternoons to read.

Something else that's also going to be very important for you: practice your interviewing with someone who's a native English speaker.
